Within the scope of the “Student Development Seminars” organized to support the academic and personal development of students studying at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emin Tamer Yenen, faculty member of the Department of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Education, gave a seminar titled “Effective and Efficient Study Strategies and Methods”.
The seminar discussed scientific research-based methods for students to make their study routines regular and motivating. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yenen emphasized that goal setting, planning, time management and sustainable motivation play a critical role in successful learning. He explained to the participants the tricks of daily and weekly planning, as well as time-efficient tools such as the Pomodoro Technique and the Eisenhower Matrix.
Yenen also touched on topics such as attention management, making sense of information, regular repetition and metacognitive strategies in the learning process, and conveyed the importance of each student discovering their learning style and developing personalized study methods. He also focused on organizing the work environment to increase productivity, healthy nutrition, sleep patterns and the effects of physical activity on academic performance.
The seminar ended with Yenen answering students' questions and sharing practical tips to keep motivation alive.
